Self Disclosure

I’m essentially a very private person, which makes this whole “blogging” thing a bit of a stretch for me. I was thinking about that, and the general idea of self-disclosure this morning. What is it that makes the best music, book, blog, painting, photograph, whatever so compelling? Often, for me at least, it’s the level of (real or imagined) self disclosure from the creator. When we feel like we’re getting a glimpse of a real person - don’t we find that so much more compelling?
