Oh the Glorious…

June 10th, 2008 Posted in Design, Life

The design changes around here certainly aren’t “in your face,” I’ll give you that. In fact, I’ve had some people visit and ask what I’ve changed at all. These people make the baby jeezus cry.

Fine, so it’s subtle. I’m not entirely done, which is to say I’m not entirely happy with it. The biggest changes have been in bells and whistles, which are nice - but B&W alone don’t make a site. I’m also considering moving away from the transparent PNG’s for the resume and contact zooms. IE6 still holds a decent market share, especially in the corporate world - I don’t know that I’m ready to just not support it, especially on a site ultimately geared towards selling myself and my mad skillz. Speaking of IE… I’m finally ditching it as my standard browser. Yes, I know - about damned time I caught up with the rest of the world… especially when you consider one of my best friends is on the official Firefox team.

I was installing Inman’s “Mint” today, and for some reason, IE7 simply didn’t want to play nice with his .zip files. Who knew the combination of Mint and Zip would be the proverbial straw?

Anyway, back to the site. I just wrapped up the initial blog-roll updating. I didn’t realize how many sites I waste time on use for valuable professional research until I saw them all stacked up like that. Next I plan on re-doing the portfolio a bit… it’s time for a change. I also plan on fortifying the client area. I’ll be adding more on each of these items as they occur.

Enough of this for now… time for Battlestar Galactica (Thanks Bob!)
