Writing Process

Recently I read an academic paper on writing processes. Overall I found the premise flawed and indulgent, but I did manage to take something away from it - there are people for whom writing itself is a transformative event. It molds their thinking as they write, sometimes changing it drastically. They think of themselves as “writers” and feel a deep need to express themselves in the written word.

Hacked! Oh Noes!

It would seem that there’s some sort of hole in the wordpress 2.5.1 security. I noticed some strange funkiness with the site the other day, and when I looked at the blog code, noticed a hidden little snippet that I clearly hadn’t put there. Self Disclosure

I’m essentially a very private person, which makes this whole “blogging” thing a bit of a stretch for me. I was thinking about that, and the general idea of self-disclosure this morning. What is it that makes the best music, book, blog, painting, photograph, whatever so compelling? Often, for me at least, it’s the level of (real or imagined) self disclosure from the creator. When we feel like we’re getting a glimpse of a real person - don’t we find that so much more compelling? More »

I’ve made it clear to M that I wouldn’t hesitate for a even a moment to leave her for Ingrid Michaelson - she, in turn, informed me that should Ewan McGregor ever come calling, I’m on my own.

Apple’s MobileMe drops support for IE 6
