About Me

I’ve been designing websites since 1999, and getting paid for it since 2000. I’m a front-end generalist - I do everything from requirements gathering, wireframing, designing, prototyping, testing, heuristic evaluations, hi-fidelity prototyping, and final HTML & CSS creation (and even more testing!)

I create sites from scratch, and I also customize WordPress and Moodle themes and plug-ins (which means I know just enough PHP and JavaScript to modify and get it to do what I need it to do).

With my advanced training in psychology, my focus is on the human to computer interface interaction. Computers are everywhere these days - from our phones to our cars, and even our glasses (thank you Google!) and some of them are cryptic and frustrating to use - and some seem as natural as breathing. My passion lies in understanding exactly why that is, and how we can make more of the latter, and avoid the former like the plague.

I also have experience in Voice Over/Narration, Instructional Design, Video Editing (Adobe After Effects), & managing teams.

Is That a Venn Diagram?!

Yes, yes it is.

The following diagram gives a graphical overview of the general domains of the UX Designer, the UI Developer/Designer, and the Application Developer. As you can see by reviewing my work and skill-set, I happily span both the UX and UI domains.
